Frequent flooding, droughts, ongoing conflicts and the displacement of millions of people have significantly reduced food production, and the country is constantly facing food insecurity.\r\n<h3 class=\"Title h2-m\">South Sudan is one of the most at-risk countries in the world.<\/h3>\r\n<div class=\"Flexible__block is-Wysiwyg\">\r\n<div class=\"Wysiwyg\">\r\n<div class=\"Wysiwyg__block\">\r\n<div class=\"WysiwygCore text Wysiwyg__text\">\r\n\r\nThe country has been plagued by political instability for years. There is currently no operational government in South Sudan. Frequent protests continue to take place in several cities, including Khartoum and Omdurman. Local climate stress can fuel political instability and national conflicts, as in the regions of Pibor, Tonj, Wau and Upper Nile.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>"},{"acf_fc_layout":"media","media_image":4519,"media_placeholder":"","media_legende":""},{"acf_fc_layout":"texte","texte":"<h2 class=\"Title h2-m\">M\u00e9decins du Monde\u2019s presence in South Sudan.<\/h2>\r\nM\u00e9decins du Monde has been present in Jonglei State since 2017, with the opening of a field coordination office in the city of Bor. M\u00e9decins du Monde was the first organization in the former Jonglei region to pilot a program in mental health and psychosocial support, providing basic counselling and specialized mental health services with psychotropic medications.\r\n<h3 class=\"Title h2-m\">Improving the quality of and access to essential health services for mothers and children affected by the food crisis.<\/h3>\r\nBetween September 2022 and January 2023, M\u00e9decins du Monde deployed 15 community mobilizers (11 men and 4 women) in Duk, South Sudan, to strengthen community interventions and participation.
