(According to UNFPA 2019 online data)

Through a participatory and inclusive approach, Doctors of the World aims to contribute to the empowerment and self-determination of adolescent girls and young women in terms of health, and recognizes that they represent an essential force for change and development in Benin, Burkina Faso and Haiti.

The project will be implemented in health, community, legal and political settings. The objectives are as follows:

Make modern contraceptive methods accessible to young people aged 15 to 24;

Improve access to quality sexual and reproductive health services for adolescents and young people aged 10 to 24;

Increase by 80% the number of adolescent girls and young women in the targeted regions with access to sexual and reproductive health services, including quality, adapted, inclusive and equitable modern contraceptive methods;

Deploy active advocacy by organizations working for the rights of women and girls, as well as health authorities;

Ensure that 90% of health services are able to provide care for gender-based violence.

The RESPECT project adopts an approach based on innovative actions:

The “solidarity kit,” which, by using social and solidarity economy mechanisms, aims to increase the availability of health and sexual and reproductive health products (including condoms) in remote rural areas or marginalized urban zones in Haiti and Benin with limited access to these products;

The use of new information and communication technologies to raise public awareness and directly engage authorities;

The establishment in Benin of Integrated Centres for the care of gender-based violence offering the following services: social assistance, psychological support, medical care, midwifery, judiciary and judicial police;

The partnership in Haiti with Lawyers Without Borders Canada to strengthen advocacy actions on the health rights of adolescents and young people.

Learn more

This project will be carried out in collaboration with Doctors of the World Spain, Doctors of the World France and Doctors of the World Switzerland and in partnership with Lawyers Without Borders Canada.

["facebook","twitter","linkedin","email","copy
["GET
