The UN has warned that civilians\u2014particularly young children\u2014will soon begin dying from severe dehydration. Neighborhoods have been destroyed and turned into rubble. Palestinians seeking safety have nowhere to go. It has been reported that many of those who left northern Gaza for the south following the evacuation order issued by the Israeli military were bombed while attempting to flee or after arriving in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<p>The events of the past week have brought us to the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe, and the world can no longer wait to act. <strong>This is our collective responsibility.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, October 15, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for the occupied Palestinian territory called on all parties to the conflict, as well as influential Member States, to <strong>urgently agree to a humanitarian ceasefire.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today, we unite our voices and call on all heads of state, the United Nations Security Council, and actors on the ground <strong>to prioritize the preservation of human life.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/sign-and-share-this-urgent-petition-calling-for-a-ceasefirenow-in-gaza-and-israel?utm_content=cl_sharecopy_37700646_en-GB%3A4&amp;recruited_by_id=1270da80-6f40-11ee-9c2b-a7668d56fd39&amp;utm_source=share_petition&amp;utm_medium=copylink&amp;utm_campaign=psf_combo_share_initial&amp;utm_term=share_petition&amp;share_bandit_exp=initial-37700646-en-US\">Sign the petition<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>During this ceasefire, we demand that all parties unconditionally respect:<\/h3>\n<ul><li>Facilitating the delivery of vital aid, including food, medical supplies, fuel, and the restoration of electricity and internet in Gaza, as well as the safe passage of humanitarian and medical personnel.<\/li><li>Releasing all civilian hostages, particularly children and elderly individuals.<\/li><li>Allowing humanitarian convoys to reach UN facilities, schools, hospitals, and health centers in northern Gaza and committing to protect them at all times, as well as the civilians and staff inside.<\/li><li>Rescinding the orders issued by the Israeli government for civilians to leave northern Gaza.<\/li><li>Permitting critically ill patients to be medically evacuated to receive emergency care.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p><strong>The United Nations<\/strong> Security Council, the UN Secretary-General, and all influential global leaders must take immediate action to ensure the implementation of a ceasefire. This is the only option to prevent further loss of civilian lives and a humanitarian catastrophe. Otherwise, our collective conscience will be forever stained.<\/p>\n<p>Civilians are not bargaining chips. Families must have the opportunity to bury and mourn their dead. The cycle of violence against innocent civilians must end.<\/p>\n<p><a
