{"id":5563,"date":"2026-02-24T13:28:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T18:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medecinsdumonde.ca\/?post_type=actualite&#038;p=5563"},"modified":"2026-10-02T04:27:13","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T09:27:13","slug":"pre-lancement-coalition-pour-lacces-universel-a-la-sante-reproductive","status":"publish","type":"actualite","link":"https:\/\/medecinsdumonde.ca\/en\/article\/pre-lancement-coalition-pour-lacces-universel-a-la-sante-reproductive\/","title":{"rendered":"Pre-launch \u2013 Coalition for Universal Access to Reproductive Health"},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Montreal, February 24, 2026 \u2013 Thanks to the financial support of the Trottier Family Foundation, Doctors of the World Canada announces the formation of the Coalition for Universal Access to Reproductive Health<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":4450,"template":"","actualite_type":[8],"actualite_sujet":[],"action_combat":[36],"mdm_pays":[],"class_list":["post-5563","actualite","type-actualite","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","actualite_type-national-actions","action_combat-migration-en"],"acf":{"mise_en_avant":false,"chapeau":"Montreal, February 24, 2026 \u2013 Thanks to the financial support of the Trottier Family Foundation, Doctors of the World Canada announces the formation of the Coalition for Universal Access to Reproductive Health","cta_type":"aucun","cta_lien":"","contenu":"<h3>A provincial initiative carried out in collaboration with:<\/h3>\n<ul><li>Qu\u00e9bec Public Health Association (ASPQ)<\/li><li>SPOT Clinic<\/li><li>Qu\u00e9bec Federation for Family Planning (FQPN)<\/li><li>SHERPA University Institute<\/li><li>Qu\u00e9bec Midwives Association (RSFQ)<\/li><li>Perinatal Referral Service for Immigrant Women in Qu\u00e9bec (SRPFIQ)<\/li><\/ul>\n<h2>Why a coalition now?<\/h2>\n<p>In Qu\u00e9bec, access to reproductive health services remains inequitable for many women and people experiencing precariousness, particularly those living without health insurance coverage due to their migrant status. <br \/><\/p>\n<h3>In response to these persistent inequalities, the Coalition aims to:<\/h3>\n<ul><li>Advocate for the effective right to reproductive health for all, regardless of migrant status;<\/li><li>Promote free access to reproductive health services under public plans;<\/li><li>Document the human, health, and social impacts of lack of access to care;<\/li><li>Carry out coordinated advocacy actions with decision-making bodies;<\/li><li>Raise public awareness and counter misinformation through a proactive communication strategy.<\/li><\/ul>\n<h2>A strategic space for mobilization<\/h2>\n<p>The Coalition will be a structured space for pooling the clinical, community, legal, and public health expertise of its members. <\/p>\n<p>It will enable the coordination of advocacy actions, the production of analyses, and the broad mobilization of civil society around a fundamental principle: reproductive health is a right, not a privilege conditional on migrant status. <\/p>\n<h2>Clear recommendations, an ongoing urgency<\/h2>\n<p>In 2022, M\u00e9decins du Monde Canada published the brief <em><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Memoire-Medecins-du-Monde-Sante-sexuelle-et-reproductive-des-femmes-migrantes-a-statut-precaire-vivant-au-Quebec_15avril-2022.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cSexual and Reproductive Health and Rights \u2013 SRHR of women living in Qu\u00e9bec: The urgency of acting to ensure access to public health insurance plans for all women, regardless of their migrant status\u201d<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>The findings and recommendations made at the time remain strikingly relevant.
