Discover SAKIFE: Women’s Health in Kivu, a poignant exhibition that reveals the often unknown realities of access to health care for women who are survivors of sexual violence in Kivu, in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
As part of the Vues d’Afrique international film festival, the photo report by Belgian photographer Christophe Smets will be presented in Montreal at the Maison du développement durable.
Based on snapshots of the lives of women health care providers, patients, and survivors of sexual violence by armed groups, particularly in connection with the work of Dr. Denis Mukwege, 2018 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, the exhibition is a unique opportunity to better understand the challenges these women face.
