A one-time donation is a single amount paid at your convenience. A monthly donation is automatically deducted each month, allowing us to plan our actions over the long term with predictable revenue.
In Canada, donations to a registered charity entitle you to a combined federal and provincial tax credit of up to 46%, applicable to your income tax return for the year of the donation.
By directly donating stocks or publicly traded funds instead of selling them, you eliminate capital gains tax while receiving a tax receipt for the total market value of the donation.
You can donate in the way that suits you best: online by credit card or PayPal, by cheque sent to our offices, or by phone with our donor service.
For one-time donations, the receipt is issued immediately or within the following days. For monthly donations, a consolidated receipt for the entire year is sent no later than the end of February of the following year.
Doctors of the World Canada generally pools donations across all its programs, allowing us to intervene based on actual needs in the field. Contact us if you wish to discuss a directed donation.
