The reality of migrants in accessing healthcare

Adapt your interventions for migrants with precarious status and master the coverage related to different migratory statuses. By taking this training, you will be able to better understand the links between the immigration system and the health system in Quebec. The content of this training is based on both academic research and the field experience of Médecins du Monde team members, who support migrants with precarious status on a daily basis.

Duration: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes per module. 3 hours in total.
Online

The training consists of two modules:

Module 1: Migratory statuses and health coverage

This first part meets the following objectives:

  1. Understand the different migratory statuses existing in Quebec
  2. Determine access to medical coverage based on a person’s migratory status.

It will enable you to answer questions such as: Does an open work permit grant access to the RAMQ? How does the health coverage for asylum seekers work? What are the regularization options for a person without status?
