As we all work very hard to overcome this second wave of COVID-19, the Government of Quebec cannot afford to deny tens of thousands of people access to care. If public health is indeed a top priority, healthcare should be accessible to everyone, without exclusion: it is a fundamental right.
The COVID-19 pandemic affects and disrupts many aspects of our lives. However, it has been shown that its impacts are even greater for people experiencing vulnerability and marginality, particularly for those who, due to their precarious immigration status, cannot access Quebec’s health insurance plan.

Every day, the healthcare staff at Médecins du Monde’s Medical Clinic for Migrants with Precarious Status witness the harmful consequences of exclusion from the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) coverage for the health and lives of these individuals and for the development of their children.
We have been witnessing this for months: the spread of COVID-19 has shown that our health depends on that of our entire community. We must therefore ensure that no one falls through the cracks, especially the most vulnerable among us.
Médecins du Monde Canada invites you to sign a petition to call on the Government of Quebec to guarantee access to health coverage for all people living in Quebec, regardless of their migration status.
