The Homelessness Crisis in Quebec: Challenges and Solutions

Quebec is facing an unprecedented homelessness crisis. This alarming increase affects chronic, episodic, visible, and hidden homelessness—revealing a weakened social fabric, precarious access to housing, and a struggling health system.

In Montreal, tensions related to social cohabitation are intensifying. Pressures to restrict or relocate essential services for people experiencing homelessness create additional challenges for community outreach workers.
